Unsatisfied with cement based ovens, Luciana and Andrew spent many years trying and testing ovens in Italy. This involved many afternoons in pizzerias (before opening time), firing up ovens, cooking pizza, meat, seafood and bread with the pizzaiolo in their quest to find the best wood fired oven.

Our Italian artisans that hand make our ovens certify the product is 100% terracotta. Like us they are concerned that cement based ovens, the material most modular ovens are manufactured from can jeopardise health when it comes in contact with food.
